That church was built around 900 BC. This is Uplistsikhe, an ancient cave city located in the country of Georgia. This is from my trip in 2015. Georgia is on my list of countries to visit again. 🇬🇪☺️
2.19.19 • I’m completely obsessed with the chicken spring rolls from Trader Joe’s (3SP on WW). This was lunch today: shrimp stir fry, riced cauliflower, and a chicken spring roll. The stir fry sauce is the Panda Express Sweet Chili sauce and I like a lot of sauce (it’s 7SP for 3TBS). Therefore, my lunch total was 10SP. The most delicious 10SP I have ever cooked up. 🍤🥦 #ProjectWW365
I’m quitting my 9-to-5 to teach abroad and travel the world. Link in bio. Shoutout to the @intteflacademy for giving me the tools to become an even better English teacher! ☺️✈️🌍📚
2.18.19 • Prepping lunch for tomorrow. Shrimp stir fry with riced cauliflower and a vegetable roll on the side.🍤 This was a busy weekend — had houseguests and being touristy around the city with friends, worked a bit, errands, booked a flight to Arizona, and decided on South Korea as the country I definitely want to move to in fall. It’s strange to think that this is the fourth country I will have lived in. When I imagined my adult life as a child, I never once pictured myself traveling abroad. Never. Now it’s all I think about and I’m living in places I never would’ve imagined. Life has turned out much more adventurous than I ever dreamt of and I’m glad. ☺️🇺🇸✈️🇰🇷 Anyway, spending the last hours of my weekend watching Party of Five. My latest obsession: this show and 90s nostalgia. 💁🏽‍♀️ #ProjectWW365
when you’re into fitness + pizza 🍕💪
1.17.19 • Some friends stayed at my place for the weekend and it was a blast catching up and doing all of the touristy things in Chicago. Last night we went to dinner at Homeslice (amazing pizza place, check it out) and ordered a large taco pizza. It was so filling that everyone only had one slice. We boxed the rest and brought it home. Basically, there was half of a large pizza left. Everyone left a bit ago and the pizza got left behind. Half of a large pizza all for me I guess. Not so much. Even though this weekend was a blast, I’m back on track today with my food and beverages today. That means no leftover pizza for me. I’m about to head out on my errands. You know, picking up new windshield wipers, light weekly grocery shopping, using my Bath and Bodyworks coupons, and spending my Kohl’s cash on one more suitcase. There are always people with signs around the city asking for food. I figured I’d take the pizza in the car and if I see someone who’s hungry, I can pass it along. I’ve always believed if you’re in the position to help someone, you should do it. Today is one of those times. Me, with a while pizza that has no place to go. I’m considering this a NSV because I absolutely would’ve eaten the entire thing prior to my taking an interest in a path toward better health. I would’ve eaten the whole pizza and there would have been several snacks throughout the day to go with the pizza. That was before I stepped back and decided to know better. It was before I decided to do better for myself. Anyway, if you ever find yourself with an abundance of food that you aren’t going to eat, remember there are always people out there with not enough food. Your excess could be someone’s something special for that day. Time to pass along the pizza. #ProjectWW365

February 15. Three years ago today I started my Weight Watchers journey. I had planned to lose a certain amount each month so by one year’s time I would be at my goal. Things didn’t go exactly as planned. I lost 75 pounds. I moved from China to America. I stayed with my best friend in South Carolina for a couple of months. I lived in Indiana for a couple of months. I got a job in Chicago. I hit the 100 pounds lost mark. I moved to Chicago. After being trapped in a lease with a toxic living situation, I moved into my own place when the lease was finally up after a year. I live in my own little apartment now and I’m finally back on track. Life is a whirlwind like that. Maybe not exactly in this way for other people, but everyone has something. Relationships, jobs, kids, death, unexpected twists — there will always be something. That’s why routine is so important, or so I’ve learned. Routine helps you stay grounded to your plans as life continues to have these crazy moments pop up around random corners. Routine makes sure the crazy doesn’t carry you away from your goals. Sometimes I feel like a failure because I’m not at goal after three years, but I try not to think of it as an all or nothing situation. The road to health doesn’t have a finish line. There are stops along the way, but even if you arrive to the destination of “goal” there are still more stops along the way. It’s a forever journey. This is three years of my forever journey and I’m still going. I am going to keep going. Because giving up is the real failure. When you stop trying, that’s when the progress drifts away. Cheers to three years. Spending my WW anniversary with visiting friends and watching episodes of Party of Five: 0SP.

Valentine’s Day is officially over. Does that mean it’s time to start planning for Chicago’s St. Paddy’s Day weekend? ☘️☺️
2.14.19 • Today is going to be an excellent example of balance. I wanted a Valentine’s Day donut from Stan’s Donuts, but pastries are much higher in WW points than what I typically like to spend on a food. This is my last Valentine’s Day in Chicago though, so I planned my meals for today around this breakfast donut because Stan’s has the most delicious pastries. My plan for today: a high protein, low-SP lunch, a low-SP dinner, fruits and vegetables as my sides for both meals. A donut for breakfast and mindful meals for the rest of the day, that’s a good balance. Donuts get a bad rap, but if you eat a pastry for breakfast, and then have seconds; then hit up a burger place for lunch, and then eat pizza for dinner, it’s no wonder people make assumptions about what is a good food versus a bad food. That’s not even mentioning portion control, which is also a major factor in how food intake affects the scale. People and donuts can live happily ever after in the world of weight loss. You just need a plan. Happy Valentine’s Day! ☺️💕🍩 #ProjectWW365
2.13.19 • Ran three miles at the gym and came home to do an 80 Day Obsession workout. I’m exhausted and yet somehow more awake than I was before. Time to do dishes, shower, and then bed. 🏃🏽‍♀️💪🏽 #ProjectWW365
